10" Aluminum Wheels — Where Competitors Ship Steel

Every competing HHH Pony 50 listing ships with steel rims. The Maui 50 ships standard with 10-inch aluminum wheels. Aluminum construction reduces unsprung weight, directly improving ride quality on city surfaces and giving the Maui more responsive handling than steel-rim competitors at the same price.

A material upgrade — not a cosmetic one — that competing HHH Pony 50 models don't offer at this price.
Dual-Start: Electric Push-Button + Kick-Start Backup

Dual-Start: Electric Push-Button + Kick-Start Backup

The Maui's electric push-button start and kick-start backup operate completely independently. A low starter battery doesn't leave you stranded — the kick-start handles it. Both start systems are standard — not an optional add-on.

Two independent start systems means one is always available. Most 50cc competitors at this price offer one or the other — not both.
85% Pre-Assembled — Under 60 Minutes to Ride

85% Pre-Assembled — Under 60 Minutes to Ride

Factory assembly covers the frame, engine, wiring harness, and drivetrain. What you complete: front wheel, mirrors, front fender, front panel, battery connection, rear trunk, and exhaust bolts. Approximately 45–60 minutes with basic hand tools.

You're not building a moped from parts. You're completing the final 15% of a factory-assembled vehicle.
Six Colors in a Step-Through Frame

Six Colors in a Step-Through Frame

Black, Blue, Red, Orange, Pink, and White — six color choices where most 50cc competitors offer two or three. The step-through open frame makes mounting and dismounting straightforward for a wide range of riders. The included lockable rear trunk adds practical cargo capacity.

More color options, an easier-access frame, and a rear trunk included at a price where competitors charge extra for any of these.

Rider Fit Guide

Maui 50 Rider Fit Guide
Recommended Age 16 and older (valid driver's license required)
Recommended Height 5'0" to 6'2" (152–188 cm)
Maximum Weight Capacity 330 lb (approx. 150 kg)
Suitable Riding Environments City streets, residential roads, campus areas — on-road street-legal use

The X-PRO Maui 50 is built for adult riders who need a practical, affordable, and street-legal 50cc moped for daily commuting and errands. Whether you're covering campus, navigating city neighborhoods, or running short-distance errands, the Maui's step-through frame, automatic CVT transmission, and dual-start system make it easy to pick up and ride.

Riders 5'0" to 6'2" (152–188 cm) will find the 29.9-inch seat height accessible for a wide range of inseams. The 330 lb maximum load capacity exceeds the 225 lb limit found on most competing HHH Pony 50 models, accommodating more riders and gear.

Not Recommended For:

Riders under age 16. Riders without a valid driver's license. Off-road, trail, or unpaved terrain use — this vehicle is for on-road use only.

A valid driver's license is required for public road operation. Helmet and protective gear are required and not included. Check your state's specific requirements for 50cc moped operation. Never exceed the 330 lb maximum load capacity.
Visual fit guide is for reference only. Actual fit may vary based on inseam, footwear, and riding posture.

Key Features
Upgraded 10" Aluminum Wheels: We replaced the steel rims standard on competing 50cc mopeds with 10-inch aluminum wheels — lighter construction means a noticeably smoother ride over city streets and residential pavement, better cornering response, and a cleaner look that competes in a higher price class. HHH/Pony 50 competitors at this price ship with steel. The Maui ships with aluminum, standard.
Dual-Start Reliability: The Maui starts with an electric push-button. And when the starter battery is low, or when you simply prefer the classic method, the kick-start backup has you covered. Neither start method requires the other. Both work independently — so you always have a way to get moving, regardless of conditions.
85% Pre-Assembled from the Factory: The Maui arrives nearly ready to ride. Factory assembly covers the frame, engine, wiring, and drivetrain — you complete the final 15%: front wheel, mirrors, rear trunk, and a few bolts. Most buyers finish in under 60 minutes. Brands shipping at 70% assembly take considerably longer and require more technical skill.
Six Color Options in a Step-Through Frame: Black, Blue, Red, Orange, Pink, and White give you six ways to ride in your style. The step-through frame design makes mounting and dismounting easy for riders of all heights — practical for daily commuting, shopping runs, and street use where you stop and start frequently.
Reliable U.S. Support, Ready Parts: As a licensed U.S. motorcycle dealer with 20+ years in business, two company-operated warehouses in California and Texas, and a dedicated local team, we keep full replacement parts in stock and ready to ship — so help is there when you need it.
Description

Product Overview

We built the X-PRO Maui for adult riders who want a practical, street-legal 50cc moped that doesn't compromise on build quality at this price. The Maui runs on a 49.5cc XinBa 4-stroke air-cooled engine with CVT automatic transmission — no clutch to manage, no gears to shift. It's EPA, CARB, and DOT certified, making it street-legal in all 50 U.S. states out of the box. At $869.95, it competes directly against the HHH/Pony 50 — but it ships with 10-inch aluminum wheels where the competition ships with steel.

What Makes It Different

The aluminum wheel upgrade is the most immediate difference a rider notices. Aluminum's lighter unsprung weight translates directly to a smoother response over city pavement — fewer vibrations transmitted through the frame, better cornering feedback, and a sharper overall feel compared to the dead weight of steel rims. It's a spec you typically pay more to get.

Engine & Performance

The dual-start system — electric push-button plus kick-start backup — means you're never left stranded. Both systems work independently. The front disc brake gives confident stopping power for city riding; the rear drum provides smooth, controlled deceleration. At 330 lb maximum load capacity, the Maui supports a wider range of adult riders than many competitors rated at 220–225 lb. The lockable rear trunk is included standard — no add-ons, no separate purchase.

Street Legal in All 50 States

Available in six colors: Black, Blue, Red, Orange, Pink, and White. The step-through frame makes mounting and dismounting fast and comfortable for daily commuting.

Brand & After-Sales Support

The Maui is street-legal with EPA, CARB, and DOT certification. A valid driver's license is required to operate this vehicle on public roads — requirements vary by state. In most U.S. states, a standard Class M or moped endorsement is required. This vehicle is not designed for highway use; check local speed limit regulations before riding on any road. Riders in California: this vehicle is CARB certified and street-legal for use in California.

Before You Buy

1 · Stay Connected — We Need to Reach You

After your order ships, our team will contact you by phone and email to coordinate delivery. Answer calls from unfamiliar numbers — our team and your carrier may call from numbers you don't recognize. Check your email daily, including your spam folder, until your vehicle arrives. Without a valid, reachable contact number, your carrier cannot complete delivery. If we cannot reach you, your order may be returned at your expense.

2 · Shipping & Delivery — LTL Freight

Your vehicle ships via LTL (Less-than-Truckload) freight from our U.S. warehouse. The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment — make sure your contact information is current. Large freight trucks cannot enter narrow roads or tight residential areas. You must meet the driver at an accessible point, or arrange terminal pickup if needed. Inspect the vehicle carefully before signing the delivery receipt. If damage is found, note it on the receipt and contact us immediately with photos.

3 · Assembly & Setup

Professional mechanic assembly is highly recommended. Improper DIY assembly voids safety guarantees and can lead to mechanical failure — incorrect assembly is one of the leading causes of early issues with new vehicles. Regardless of who assembles it, you must tighten all bolts and apply thread-locker (Loctite) before the first ride. Vibration will loosen factory settings during use, causing parts to fall off or break. This is a required pre-ride step, not a defect.

4 · Engine Maintenance — Gas Models

Change the engine oil before your first ride — factory fill is a break-in oil not suitable for extended use. Skipping this step is the leading cause of engine seizure on new vehicles. Use fresh 87+ octane fuel only. Do not use high-pressure washers near engine or electrical components. Drain fuel for long-term storage. Store in a dry area.

5 · Real-World Performance

Top speed and power output are measured under optimal lab conditions. Actual performance varies based on rider weight, terrain type, road conditions, and ambient temperature. Fuel quality also affects performance — always use 87+ octane fresh gasoline. Riders above 200 lb may notice a reduction in top speed. Do not expect maximum rated performance in all real-world riding conditions.

6 · Storage

For long-term storage (30 days or more), drain the fuel tank and run the carburetor dry — do not store with old fuel as it will gum the carburetor and jets. Disconnect the 12V starter battery if storing for more than 60 days to prevent discharge. Store the vehicle indoors in a dry, temperature-stable environment, covered to protect from dust. Before returning to service after extended storage, inspect all bolts, tire pressure, brake function, and battery charge level.

7 · Safety & Rider Requirements

This vehicle is designed for riders age 16 and older. A valid driver's license is required to operate this vehicle on public roads — requirements vary by state. Most states require a Class M license or moped endorsement. Always wear a properly fitted, approved helmet and appropriate protective gear — helmet is not included. Maximum weight capacity must not be exceeded. This is a street-legal vehicle; always comply with local traffic laws and posted speed limits. Not designed for highway use unless local regulations permit.

8 · Break-in Period

We recommend a break-in period for the first 3–5 hours of riding. During this period, avoid sustained full-throttle operation and vary your speed to allow the engine and drivetrain components to seat properly. After break-in, perform an oil change and re-inspect and re-tighten all bolts. A properly completed break-in reduces early wear and extends the vehicle's service life.

FAQ
What does the warranty cover, and what is excluded?
Every X-PRO Maui is covered by our manufacturer Limited Warranty: 1-year frame warranty against structural defects, and 90-day parts warranty against manufacturing defects. Normal wear items — tires, brake pads, drive belts, spark plugs — and damage from misuse, accidents, or unauthorized modifications are not covered. View our full warranty policy at xprousa.com/pages/warranty-policy.
How do I submit a warranty claim or request support?
Contact our U.S.-based team through xprousa.com/pages/contact-us by phone or email. Include your order number, photos of the issue, and a description of what happened. Our team has direct access to inventory systems and warehouse operations for faster resolution.
Can I get replacement parts, and how quickly do they ship?
Yes. We stock full OEM replacement parts for the Maui in our company-owned warehouses in California and Texas. Parts are stocked before vehicles are listed. Browse and order parts at xprousa.com/collections/parts-by-bikes. Domestic shipping from our U.S. warehouses.
What should I do if my vehicle arrives damaged?
If your vehicle arrives with visible damage, photograph everything before signing or opening the packaging. Note the damage on the LTL delivery receipt — this is critical for freight damage claims. If damage is severe, refuse delivery and contact our team within 24 hours with photos. For damage discovered after opening, contact us within 48 hours with photos.
Do I need to sign for delivery, and what if I miss it?
LTL freight delivery requires a scheduled appointment — the carrier will call to arrange. You must be available at an accessible location for the delivery. If you miss the appointment, contact the carrier immediately to reschedule. After multiple failed delivery attempts, the item may be returned at your expense.
How will you contact me after my order ships?
After your order ships, our team will contact you by phone and email to coordinate LTL freight delivery. Please answer calls from unfamiliar numbers — your freight carrier will call to schedule a delivery appointment. Check your email daily including spam until your vehicle arrives.
What happens if you can't reach me during delivery?
If we cannot reach you after multiple contact attempts, your freight carrier will be unable to schedule your delivery. The item may be returned at your expense. Keeping your contact information current is critical for LTL freight deliveries, which require a scheduled appointment.
Is this vehicle street legal?
Yes. The X-PRO Maui is EPA, CARB, and DOT certified for street-legal operation in all 50 U.S. states. A valid driver's license is required for public road use — most states require a Class M license or moped endorsement. Not designed for highway use unless local regulations permit.
What age is this vehicle recommended for, and is supervision required?
This vehicle is recommended for riders age 16 and older. A valid driver's license is required. Always ensure the vehicle's speed rating and weight capacity are appropriate for the specific rider. Maximum load capacity is 330 lb. Not recommended for teens without a valid driver's license.
Does the vehicle come assembled, or do I need to assemble it?
The Maui ships approximately 85% pre-assembled from the factory. You will need to complete the remaining assembly: front wheel, front panel, front fender, rearview mirrors, rear trunk, exhaust bolts, and battery installation. Most buyers finish in under 60 minutes.
Can I assemble it myself, or do I need a professional mechanic?
Most buyers with basic mechanical ability can complete assembly using the included tools and owner's manual. However, professional mechanic assembly is highly recommended — improper assembly voids safety guarantees. If you assemble it yourself, you must tighten all bolts and apply thread-locker (Loctite) before the first ride.
Do I need to change the oil before the first ride?
Yes — change the engine oil before your first ride. Factory-fill oil is a break-in lubricant not suitable for extended use. Riding on factory oil without changing it is the leading cause of early engine damage on new gas vehicles. Use a standard 10W-40 or manufacturer-recommended oil for the first change.
What type of fuel does this vehicle require?
This vehicle requires 87+ octane gasoline. Do not use ethanol blends above E10 — higher ethanol content damages the carburetor and fuel system over time. Use fresh fuel; avoid storing gasoline in the tank for more than 30 days without a fuel stabilizer.
How do I prepare the vehicle for long-term storage?
For storage of 30 days or more: drain the fuel tank completely and run the engine until it stops on its own (runs the carburetor dry). This prevents fuel from gumming the carburetor jets. Disconnect the 12V starter battery and store it on a trickle charger. Before returning to service, inspect all bolts, tire pressure, brake function, and charge the battery.
Is there a break-in period, and what do I need to do during it?
Yes. A break-in period of 3–5 hours of riding is recommended. During this period, avoid sustained full-throttle operation and vary your speed to allow the engine components to seat properly. After break-in, perform a full oil change and re-tighten all bolts. This step significantly reduces early wear.
